PARADE NIGHTS

WHAT IS PARADE?

For air cadets, a parade refers to a formal gathering or assembly where cadets participate in structured activities, including drills, inspections, and various training exercises. It serves as an opportunity to practice military-style discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills in a structured environment.

Parades often include ceremonies, such as the raising or lowering of the flag, and can also involve presentations or promotions. These events are important for building a sense of pride and camaraderie within the squadron, while reinforcing the values of respect, responsibility, and readiness.

Parades also provide cadets with the chance to demonstrate their achievements and receive recognition for their progress.

POPPY TAGGING

The Air Cadets and our Squadron are proud to support the local Royal Canadian Legions and their Poppy Campaign.  "Poppy Tagging" is a meaningful collaboration that honors the sacrifices made by veterans while teaching cadets the importance of remembrance and community service.

Through this partnership, cadets actively participate in fundraising efforts for the Royal Canadian Legion's Poppy Campaign, distributing poppies and collecting donations in support of veterans and their families. This involvement not only helps raise awareness about Canada's military history but also instills values of respect, gratitude, and civic duty in the cadets.

The partnership fosters a sense of pride and responsibility, allowing cadets to contribute directly to a cause that is deeply rooted in Canadian tradition and values. By working alongside the Legion, the cadets gain firsthand experience in organizing and executing a community-driven initiative that has a lasting impact on both the veterans and the broader community.
